What Does it Take to Drive Health Equity?
On May 14th, 2024, healthcare professionals will convene in Burbank, CA, to advance health equity through collaboration, education and working toward shared goals. We hope you’ll join us at the Driving Healthcare Equity event hosted by the California Association of Health Plans.
Freed Associates Senior Healthcare Consultant Kam Reams will moderate a panel discussion on Healthcare Equity — Successes and Learnings: Org culture, data, partnerships, and more. Our panel of esteemed experts will include Barbara Rubino, MD, Associate Chief Medical Officer of Covered California; Traco Matthews, MBA, Chief Health Equity Officer of Kern Health Systems; and Valerie Martinez, DrPH, MPH, Chief Health Equity Officer of Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan.
Our panel will discuss how healthcare organizations are working towards understanding and reducing health disparities and improving access and affordability. We will talk about the variety of approaches organizations are testing to effectively move the needle on equity for their populations.
We will also discuss much-needed collaborations being formed across industries, communities, and competitors in an effort to reduce inequities holistically.
Finally, the panel will share best practices for organizations that are prioritizing a culture of equity and pursuing alignment of core values, operating models, organizational structure, incentives and workforce practices.
